Howard Califano

Howard leads and manages the overall operation of the Innovation Centre. He brings experience from the academic industry and financial sectors focused on developing businesses around emerging technology. He has founded, held executive management positions, acted as Member of the Board of Directors and CEO of multiple companies in the United States and Asia. He was Consulting Director of Bio*One Capital Pte Ltd and acted as the interim CEO of several of their portfolio companies. Howard was the CEO of Johns Hopkins Singapore and The Johns Hopkins-NUH International Medical Centre.




Virginia Cha

Adjunct Professor of Technology Entrepreneurship, INSEAD


Virginia is an active researcher, educator, mentor, and angel investor in Singapore's entrepreneur ecosystem after 32 years of executive management in technology companies. In her multi-faceted industry career which spanned multiple countries, she was the chief technology geek at a US multinational technology company, the first technology transfer officer (Infocomm) for the Republic of Singapore, co-founder and CEO of multiple venture-funded, hi-tech companies in Singapore and China with successful exits on NASDAQ and HKSE, chief representative of private equity fund with holdings in China-based technology ventures and science park property interests, founder and executive chair of self-funded companies in China in health and fitness, investment consulting, science park development, and digital smart home solution.




Wong Woon Kwong

Director, Research and Industry Collaborations, Entrepreneurship Office & Technology Transfer Office, SUTD


Woon Kwong is the Director of the Office of Research and Industry Collaborations of the Singapore University of Technology and Design. In the first role, he has the responsibility of developing the research policies and processes of the University, as well as oversight of the management of grants. His second role includes outreach to industry and external organisations for research collaborations, and was instrumental in working with the Ministry of Defence to set up Temasek Laboratories and iTRUST at SUTD. He also sets up and runs the Entrepreneurship Centre and the Technology Transfer Office, as well as oversees the strategic partnership with Zhejiang University in China for student exchanges, internships and research collaborations.




Desai Arcot Narasimhalu

Founder and Managing Innovator, Simha Innovations


Desai is the founder and Managing Innovator, Simha Innovations. He was previously the founding Director of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and a Professor of Information Systems at the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University. He is a fellow of Singapore Computer Society and a fellow of International Society for Professional Innovation Management. His institute has helped around 150 teams create startups during its eight years of existence. The Institute has helped these teams raise S$ 4.5 million in government grants and about S$ 13 million in investments. Desai has recently published five Amazon Kindle ebooks titled I Ching of Innovation, Adjacent Innovation Methods, Business Model Buffet, Innovative Entrepreneurs Workbook and Discovering Disruptions. He has been actively helping entrepreneurs create startups and universities review and strengthen their incubation and acceleration processes and the startups created by them.






P. Jeyaratnam

Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, S&J Asia-Pacific Ventures


Presently based in Singapore, Mr Jeyaratnam was with the Electrolux Group for ten years, where he was Marketing Director based in Singapore with postings into Malaysia, Germany and Sweden.  He eventually rose to become its first and youngest President of the Indian operations, a joint venture with India's leading conglomerate Tata. Other positions held include being General Manager of Saresco Travellers Pte. Ltd for its duty free operations in Changi International Airport. His strong sense of professional and personal integrity, as well as his ability to quickly grasp business opportunities has enabled him to grow S&J to its present position as a consulting firm with international affiliations of repute.





Tan Geok Leng

An industry veteran with over 30 years of experience, Dr Tan held a wide variety of roles in many organisations ranging from start-ups, research, consultancy, product development, sales & marketing and strategic planning. Presently, Dr Tan is the founder and CEO at AIDA Technologies, a start-up delivering custom solutions using AI driven analytics. AIDA was one of the winners in the inaugural MAS Fintech festival 2016. Before starting AIDA, Dr Tan was the Executive Director of the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R). Under his leadership, I2R established joint laboratories with Baidu, Singapore Technologies and Singapore Power. Prior to I2R, he was CTO at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). At IDA, he spearheaded the team that developed the iconic Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) Master Plan, which now serves as the guide for Singapore's infocomm development for the next 10 years.





Chak Kong Soon

Chak Kong Soon is a Managing Partner of Stream Global Pte Ltd and the Fellow of the Singapore Computer Society, a professional body with 30,000-strong membership. He is the immediate Past President of the Society. Chak, as he is known, has been in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry for more than 25 years. His passion in building and nurturing organizations led him to collaborate with several prominent individuals to start Stream Global. Stream Global is a local 'Venture Catalyst' whose main objective is to invest in and partner with entrepreneurs and assist them in realizing their potential. In partnership with the Media Authority of Singapore (MDA) and the National Research Foundation (NRF), Stream Global jointly invests in start-ups both in Singapore and the region. In addition to being the Managing Partner of Stream Global, he is mentoring several ICT organizations in the region.





Lim Tit Meng

Associate Professor, Department of Biological Science, National University of Singapore and Chief Executive, Science Centre Singapore


TM Lim has been Chief Executive at the Science Centre Singapore since January 2010. He concurrently holds the position of Associate Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, NUS. He is a director in the Board of the Association of Science & Technology Centres (ASTC) and an EXCO member of the Asia Pacific Science Centres Network (ASPAC). He also sits in the Board of Directors for the International Lunar Observatory Association (ILOA). He is the current President of the Singapore Association for the Advancement of Science (SAAS) as well as the 1st Vice President of the Singapore National Academy of Science (SNAS). His other appointments are in the Singapore Bioethics Advisory Committee; the Singapore Technologies Endowment Programme Board; the Singapore Millennium Foundation Board; and the Attractions and Leisure Management Industry Skills and Training Council. He has been conferred Fellow of the Singapore National Academy of Science and Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Biology in 2014.
